Staying at just one of the sandy areas on the Jamaican coast is impossible, but since we love the wilderness so much, we have chosen Long Bay in Negril: Nudist, rough, and almost virgin. In other words, bring your own sandwich, because there are no bars here. A perfect choice if you also rest at the Legends Beach Resort Hotel. So, what are you waiting for to travel to Jamaica?

The cliffs of Negril

These cliffs made of black coral rock stand close to Long Bay: Look down and be amazed by the turquoise water! The sea can be reached by going down a set of stairs. As a result, it is the perfect place for snorkelling and being dumbfounded by the diversity of species.

The colourful craft market

Are you in Negril? Come to the flea market! Here you will find very special souvenirs: Jewellery, pearls, wooden objects, and other craftwork. You can not travel to Jamaica and not return with one of them

Reggae

If you are into this African rhythm, Jamaica is the mecca for enjoying this music.  The Montego Bay Culture Centre, a museum dedicated to Rastafarian culture, clubs like Rick’s Café in Negril, and regular concerts prove that reggae is the pop of Jamaica. Have not you packed your suitcase yet?

Bob Marley’s tomb

If the previous feature interested you, this is a must.  Close to Ocho Rios, in the village of Nine Miles, is the burial spot of the king of reggae, Bob Marley. There are guided tours that recreate his life in this place.  Oh, and just for your information: It is legal to smoke marijuana here.

This iconic drink made from sugar cane has over 265 years of history. The oak barrels where it is stored and the weather in the Nassau Valley where they are made give rise to the finest rum in the world.  Are you ready for a guided tour?

Jamaican cuisine is a blend of many cultures, namely English and African, and out of its dishes, ackee is a keeper: A mix of dry cod, ackee -a native tropical fruit that looks like a peach-, different kinds of pepper, and onion; jerk meat, smoked for hours over the fire and seasoned with spices like nutmeg, cinnamon or pepper; Especially relevant are the dishes made with lobster, one of the most prized seafood on island.
